James was born and raised in the Bay Area. He began his golf career right out of high school, working in a restaurant at Rancho Solano Golf Course. While finishing his degree in Computer Science at San Jose State University, he joined American Golf Corporation, working in the golf shop at Summitpointe Golf Club.
From there he grew his career working in all aspects of club operations, from banquet captain, sales director, assistant GM and finally at the age of 25, he became one of the youngest GMs in the company at Franklin Canyon Golf Course. James then joined Touchstone Golf, and as a member of the Executive Team he managed multiple golf course properties around the Bay Area, including his own club.
When not working, James loves to spend time with his wife Jessica and two children, vacationing around the world. Their all-time favorite place to visit is the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland!
He is very passionate about the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers and can’t wait for another championship to come! James' favorite golf trip was at Bandon Dunes, playing 90 holes of golf in 3 days. His all-time favorite golf experience was playing Cypress Point Club where he finished with a birdie, par, birdie, par.
Melanie has been in the hospitality industry since 2003.
Melanie has built a rapport with many members of Crow Canyon and enjoys knowing that she helps to make people’s experience at the Club both personal and meaningful. Member interaction is Melanie’s favorite part of her job and takes pride in the fact that members are able to put a face to her name.
Melanie is a native Californian, born and raised in Danville, where she resides with her husband and daughter. When she is not at the Club, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family, friends and anything related to animals, movies, the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants.
Dawn comes to us from the non-profit industry, where she spent many years involved in environmental education and captive animal management. She was responsible not only for the care and feeding of wild animals but for animal care professionals and volunteers as well. Her management experience includes the three R’s; recruitment, retention, and recognition.Throughout her career, Dawn has been able to employ her passion for food and party planning in assisting and coordinating events of all sizes. She excited to bring her skills to the Crow Canyon team in the spirit of “Building Relationships and Enriching Lives”.Dawn lives in Martinez with her husband, Brent and two daughters, Brooke and Talyn. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her older daughter play softball, cooking, and watching her favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.
Kymberlie grew up in Sonoma County and was lured into the world of food and wine. She turned her hobby of wedding and event planning into a career working in wineries and hotels, with over 15 years of event planning and hospitality experience.
Kymberlie spent the last year and a half at Google on an R&D project called Project Loon which was fascinating; however, she is excited to be back in Private Events doing what she love! She is thrilled to be the Private Events Director at Crow Canyon Country Club and to be a part of the ClubCorp family!
Kymberlie lives in Pleasanton with her amazing daughter Marisa and adorable rescue dog from Guatemala, Bailey. She is a die-hard foodie, loves to cook and plan events. She is also passionate about volunteering, wine tastings, concerts, bike riding, hiking, rafting, road trips, her Pug Brody and a love for microbrew beer!
Michael Dunn has been an executive chef for over 20 years.
He is a tri-valley resident of over 40 years, currently residing in Dublin and loves the local area. Michael graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Zoology before pursuing his passion for food. He was a chef for the Lark Creek Restaurant Group for 20 years, running the Lark Creek Walnut Creek and Yankee Pier kitchens before spending time with Bon Appetit Management in San Jose.
Michael enjoys the challenges of running a kitchen and focuses on seasonal cuisine executed properly and providing a warm inviting dining experience.
In his spare time you will find Michael on the slopes in Tahoe skiing, fishing for trout, immersed in his fish tanks or enjoying quite time in his garden.
A native Californian, born in Fremont and raised in Danville. Doug played his high school golf here at Crow Canyon from 2000-2003 before going to Arizona State University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness along with getting his Class “A” PGA degree in 2007.
He has worked at a number of different clubs including the Bridges Golf Club, Diablo Country Club, Harding Park Golf Course, Las Sendas Golf Club, Firerock Country Club, Crystal Springs Golf Course, and Callippe Preserve Golf Course.
Doug resides in Livermore with his wife Sanonda and son Keegan along with their two cats Puma and Scotty Cameron. Doug enjoys spending time with his family, friends, wine tasting, going to sporting events, breweries, and of course, playing golf!

Email Tim Johnson
Tim grew up in Napa Valley. He attended college in Illinois, earning his degrees in History, Political Science and Golf Management. Upon returning to California, Tim played competitively on mini-tours before dedicating himself to teaching. Tim has been in the golf business for over 20 years working at courses such as Presidio, Temeku Hills, Chardonnay, Shadow Lakes, Diablo Country Club and Fremont Park Golf.
Tim has an impressive 19 years of extensive teaching experience with golfers of all ages, learning from greats such as Ben Doyle, Kent Brown, Dan Schwabe, Josh Zander and others. He spent 4 years with Golftec learning the biomechanics of the swing. Recently he has earned certifications in TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) and ADM (Athletic Development Model).
On the juniors side of golf, he has had many success stories, including teaching and coaching over 20 juniors to college scholarships and over 200 tournament wins and amateur titles.
Tim currently lives in San Ramon with his two sons Lukas, 9 and Alek, 5. He enjoys playing sports with his kids, exercising and competing in Marathons and Spartan Races.
Chris grew up in Yuma, Arizona, and the Monterey Peninsula. His family was in the produce business and would spend winters in Arizona and summers in Monterey. He started playing golf at 6 years old with his grandfather while visiting in Nebraska, where they would use the pasture as a driving range.
Chris attended Arizona State University for three semesters, then transferred and graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Vegetable Science. His career started at La Quinta Country Club in the Palm Desert. Over the next several years he honed his skills working at handful of golf courses in the Bay Area and central California, before making his way to Crow Canyon.
Chris loves the game of golf and is an avid player. His other passions in life are traveling with his girlfriend and fishing. Chris enjoys his evenings in the backyard chipping, putting, barbequing and planning their next adventures.
Stephen grew up in San Francisco and went to college at Canada College in Woodside California. After one year, he I transferred to University of Oregon and played on the tennis team. Following his college career, Stephen played nationally and internationally and achieved a world ranking. He was fortunate to be sponsored by the Lear Jet Corporation.
Upon leaving competitive tennis, Stephen began teaching tennis at the Vertical Club in New York City. After two years, he relocated in Los Altos Hills, California and worked as the assistant pro at the Fremont Hills Tennis Club for two years. Stephen accepted the Director of Tennis position at the Modesto Racquet Club and stayed there for six years.
Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs. He also aspires to win a national championship in senior tennis and is an active golfer.
Ethan Hall is the Club’s aquatics director and has been the Club’s swim coach since 2003.
Ethan has coached the Sea Lions to County Meet Team Championships from in 2005 - 2008 and from 2011 - 2015. He coached the Sharks to a Long Course Far Western Team Championship in 2010. Ethan was the U.S. National Record breaker in the 15-16 200 meter Breaststroke and an Olympic Trials participant in 1996 and 2000. He swam collegially at both UNC-Chapel Hill and UC-Santa Barbara. He was the UNC record breaker in the 200 yard Breaststroke in 1999 and the Big West Conference Champion in 100 yard Breaststroke in 2001. Ethan was also given UCSB's Athletic Department Golden Eagle Award in 2002 for the Highest GPA.
Ethan has helped more than 35 student athlete get college scholarships for swimming. He is a big time football fan and loves to travel. He lives in Lafayette with his wife Natalie, bulldog Dozer, and border terrier She-Ra.
