Jay Walkinshaw

Prior to his role at Firestone, Jay served as the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at Frenchman’s Reserve Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. His industry experience spans more than 30 years primarily with private clubs which includes serving as Executive Director at The National Golf Club of Canada and General Manager/Chief Operating Officer at Pasatiempo Golf Club. Jay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco, is a Life Member of The PGA of America and is an active member of the Club Management Association of America. Jay and his wife, Katrina, have three grown children and enjoy the outdoors, traveling and spending time with family.

Born and raised in Western, Pennsylvania, Mark has worked in the "business world" of golf for twenty five years. Most recently with the PGA TOUR at the WGC - Bridgestone Invitational as the corporate sales manager for nine plus years. Prior to the PGA TOUR, Mark spent several years in Orlando, Portland, and Toledo in  regional sales and marketing capacities with different golf course management companies.

Mark enjoys developing strategic relationships with small and large companies  across a variety of industries that create tangible and intangible business results which improves their bottom line revenue, client retention, and employee satisfaction. 

In his spare time Mark enjoys hunting, fishing, fitness, reading, and golf!

Having an extensive background in commercial real estate, I began my career working for Cleveland-based developer, Stark Enterprises. I continued my career abroad working as a Partner for Johnson Fellows, a property consultancy company in the United Kingdom. Here I managed large portfolios of commercial property for national retailers, pension funds and high wealth private individuals.

After 17 years working in commercial property and living in England for nearly 10 years, I decided to change direction. With golf as my passion, upon returning to Northeast Ohio in 2015, I began working for ClubCorp as the Membership Director at Silver Lake Country Club. For 3 years I worked at growing the membership and fostering relationships with new members. I thoroughly enjoy working in a private golf and country club and it’s something I get excited about every day.

Jason is a PGA Professional who has been in the golf business for over 18 years. Throughout this time, he has gained valuable knowledge and experience, at both public and private facilities, in a variety of roles including, Assistant Golf Professional, Food and Beverage Leader, Clubhouse Manager and General Manager. He enjoys meeting new people, developing and mentoring young golfers and providing excellent customer service. Jason is excited to take on the role as Membership Director at such an iconic place as Firestone Country Club and looks forward to building relationships with current members as well as meeting and enrolling new members. Jason and his wife, Sherry, have three grown children and two very active Labrador Retrievers. Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with family, golfing, hunting and fishing.

I joined ClubCorp in the Spring of 2017 as a Golf Shop Assistant at Diamond Run Golf Club in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. After filling in for the Private Events & Member Relations Director for several months at Diamond Run, I was fortunate enough to begin my own role as the Member Relations Coordinator at Firestone in the Spring of 2018. I graduated with my Master of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Duquesne University and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and canoeing!

Kathleen Sapola

Kathleen was raised in Medina, Ohio and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Kent State University. Her passion for event planning was discovered at the young age of 15, when she began working in the ballroom at Weymouth Country Club. Kathleen's event planning career took off immediately after college at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, where she accepted the Manager of Programming and Sales role. Her biggest accomplishment at the railroad was successfully running The Polar Express program. Kathleen enjoys meeting new people and using her creativity to plan memorable events. She lives with her fiancé Ryan and loves to go fishing in her free time.

David’s golf club experience is backed with impressive playing credentials as well. David is consistently ranked in the top 10 of the PGA Player of the Year standings in the Northern Ohio Section, where he finished 7th in 2010. He also qualified for the PGA Club Professional National Championship in 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2014! In 2009, he became the Toledo Open Champion.

Randy May

Born and raised in Northeastern Ohio, Randy attained an AOS Degree in Food Service Management from the University of Akron in 1982.

Randy was employed by ClubCorp USA, Inc. for 28 years until July 2008 and during his tenure held many front-of-the-house positions including Regional Service Director, Development Service Director and Regional Director of Food and Beverage for the Business and Sports Club Division.

While working eight years as a Development Service Director for ClubCorp, Randy had the opportunity to be involved with opening over 30 private Clubs ranging from Golf and Country and Business and Sports Clubs to Nicklaus signature projects and Alumni Clubs.

His most “prized” accomplishments were opening the two Bear’s Best operations in Atlanta and Las Vegas as well as opening the University Center Club in Tallahassee, Florida on the campus of Florida State University and the University of Texas Club in Austin, Texas on the campus of The University of Texas.

Randy also worked with the service staff in the Carolina Dining Room at Pinehurst Resort in 2008 which was quite an honor and a privilege as well as help out at Firestone Country Club for 13 World Series of Golf back in the late 80’s and 90’s.

For six years Randy had been the Director of Service and Training at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton and had taken care of the Club’s Wine Society Program for nearly three years until he came aboard Firestone in June, 2015

“My passion is hospitality service staff training- from casual to fine dining with a focus on enhancing the Member and Guest experience at Private Clubs.

Randy’s hobbies include: land design, biking, wines, cooking and staying current with culinary, beverage and service trends.

After having lived in Louisville, Kentucky for 23 years, he was delighted to move back to the area six years ago to be “back home” and is anxious to meet all of the Members at Firestone Country Club.

His philosophy is straightforward: “Anything worth doing in life, whether personal or professional, is worth doing well”.

Larry Napora

I have been the Director of Golf Course Operations at Firestone Country Club since 2008. I have been a part of the ClubCorp family for the past 25 years. Prior to Firestone, I worked at Treesdale Golf and Country Club, a 27-hole Arnold Palmer Design ClubCorp facility in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania where I served as the Director of Greens and Grounds and as ClubCorp’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Director of Agronomy. Early in my career I was the Superintendent at Oakmont Country Club, Oakmont, Pennsylvania and at Philadelphia Country Club, Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.

I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Westminster College in Business Administration and a Turfgrass Management Certificate at The Pennsylvania State University. My beautiful wife, Bonnie, and I have two amazing children, Adam and Keriann.

Matthew Crum

Matthew Crum joins us as the Executive Chef at Firestone Country Club. He has over 20 years of experience in upscale country club dining and banquet cuisine and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts. Matt has worked as the Executive Chef at the Skyline Club in Southfield, Michigan, The Club at Pradera in Parker, Colorado, and River Creek Country Club in Leesburg, Virginia.
