A rare Charlotte native, Kelsey grew up in the Carolinas before attending school at the College of Charleston. Graduating in 2012, she received a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Before returning to the Queen City, Kelsey was selected to be a Traveling Leadership Consultant, Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, which gave her the opportunity to visit 26 universities around the country. Since joining the team at Firethorne, Kelsey has enjoyed building relationships with the Club’s Members and has been very advantageous in growing its membership roster. She has made Club 100 each year since ClubCorp acquired Firethorne, received President's Club for her performance in 2016 and 2017, and was inducted into Diamond Club in 2017. She was also a national award winner in 2016 and 2017 and looks forward to continuing her career within ClubCorp. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband, being a dog mom to their 3-year-old Labrador Cooper,and staying active in the community. She and her husband are looking forward to expecting their first child in early December. 

Pam Hart

Pam brings to the team 27 years of experience in the Club industry and has been at Firethorne for 15 years serving multiple roles. Pam was born in New York, grew up in Pennsylvania and has lived in the Charlotte area with her husband, Jean for the last 26 years. Pam and Jean have three grandchildren and will also celebrate their 27th anniversary in April. In her free time, you’ll find Pam camping or out on her boat.  


James Thompson

We would like to introduce James our PGA Head Golf Professional. Coming up on 15 years in the business, his past experience includes TPC Piper Glen, Kennett Square Golf and Country Club, and 6 years instructing golf with ESPN golf schools. Originally from Minnesota, James is a graduate of Mississippi State University where he was surrounded by peers and industry experts in the Professional Golf Management program. This provided him with an extensive education for his chosen career. He enjoys spending time with his family, wife Amanda, and 6-year-old daughter Allie.

Teaching Philosophy: “I give my students the best possible chance to improve. I simplify a complex game by concentrating on two factors, swing plane and club face. Perfecting these factors will allow for more consistency, better control, and more distance.”


Wade Liles

Role: Head Tennis Professional

Wade has been a part of the Firethorne Management team since 1999. He was once ranked 8th in the nation in doubles at Methodist University. Currently, he is a USTA high performance coach and certified P-1 with the USPTA. When Wade is not on the court, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and 2 kids, enjoying Panthers football, and grilling when the weather is nice.


Andrew Daly

Andrew joins Firethorne from Indian Wells, California and has worked for Hyatt Regency Indian Wells. He worked for Hyatt Hotels for a total of 12 years between Indian Wells, San Diego, and Orlando. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu at International Culinary Academy in PA and has received a multitude of awards from Notter School of Pastry Arts. During Chef Andrew’s time in growing in the Hospitality Industry he also spent time with Ritz Carlton Orlando, Peabody Orlando Hotel, and Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Hotel. His passion for cooking started young with spending time in the kitchen with his dad and grandmother.  

David Layne

David Layne comes to us with over 25 years of food and beverage experience, previously working at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte where he was the Food and Beverage Manager for 4 and a half years. Prior to that, he was the Club Director at Keowee Key Country Club in Salem, South Carolina near Clemson, South Carolina which is also why he is a passionate Clemson Tiger. Starting as a server’s assistant at Keowee Key he worked his way up to Club Director by acting in almost every job available in the industry including the back of the house and golf. Along the way, he has also been a Realtor, Insurance Agent, and a Cardiology Technician. Food and beverage, however, has always held a special place for Dave in the Country Club world he says,” because you develop relationships with the members that you would not experience in a public restaurant. We also get to experience the special occasions in the membership’s lives from births to weddings and everything in between.”

In his personal time, Dave enjoys playing a little golf when time allows, but composing music is what he really loves to do. He has played the piano and guitar for the better part of his life and enjoys composing and working with mediums such as short films and commercial avenues to apply his compositions too. Dave is excited to be here at Firethorne Country Club and that he has been given this opportunity to make every day a special occasion.


Sheila White

Role: Assistant Food Service Director

Sheila was born and raised in Hilton Head, South Carolina until she moved in 2011. She has worked at numerous Country Clubs on the coast and started with us at Firethorne in 2012. Sheila began her career as a Dining Room Server, and has since been promoted to Dining Room Manager. She also has expertise in bartending, banquets, and in the kitchen. Sheila has been noted as one of our biggest team players and is truly loved by all of our Members and staff. When she has free time, you can find her with her 3 daughters and spoiling her 3 grandchildren who call her “MiMa”, or decorating her new home that she closed on in November. Sheila is a very important part of our team, and is looking forward to continue building long lasting relationships and enriching lives here at the Club.


Bridget Roberts

Before becoming the Office Administrator at Firethorne, Bridget worked as the Staff Accountant for Timbers Resorts in Jupiter, FL. She has worked in various administrative and accounting capacities for over twenty years. During this time she has worked in the legal, transportation, television, hospitality and non-profit industries. Her most exciting role thus far was at the television show “America’s Most Wanted” where she worked behind the scenes as a Production Accountant for seven years. She was very proud to be a part of a team that assisted law enforcement officials with capturing criminals and was tickled every time she saw her name in the closing credits.
A native of northern Virginia, she has also lived in Texas, Michigan and most recently Florida. She attended Thomas Edison High School in Fairfax County, VA and studied Criminal Justice and Accounting at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) located in Adelphi, MD.

Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her extended family, her daughter Bria, and her beloved Yorkie, Sasha. She has always been a lover of books and is an avid reader. She enjoys music, art, cinema, shopping, and checking out different restaurants, particularly those with foreign cuisine.


Kim Brauner

Kim was raised in the small historic town of Pittsboro, North Carolina. She received a BSBA in Marketing with a concentration in Analytics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Upon graduation in 2015, Kim joined River Hills Country Club as the Director of Membership and Marketing. In order to learn more aspects of the Club industry, Kim came to Firethorne Country Club in November of 2017. A goal of hers is to create a memorable experience for our Members and to build lasting relationships. As an avid Equestrian, Kim spends the majority of her free time at her farm in Monroe, North Carolina, and training her two horses Deacon and Maisy for Eventing and Foxhunting. She also has two rescue dogs Chloe, a Brittany Spaniel and Benelli, a German Shorthaired Pointer.
