The Red and Orange Ball Program is for children ages 4-9 who have had little or no tennis exposure. The goal of the Red and Orange BallProgram is to offer an opportunity for children to learn the basic skills through a series of fun and exciting games and drills. The emphasis will be on fun and skill development. They will develop their motor skills, listening skills, and ability to follow instructions while they learn tennis skills. We will use the appropriate tennis balls to match their skill set and age.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays | 4 – 5:30 p.m.
The Green Ball Program is for children ages 10 –12. Younger children who have achieved the goals of the Red and Orange Ball Program and are ready for the more challenging practices of the Green Ball Program may be considered. The Goals of the Green Ball Program are to learn and master all the rules of tennis, and to continue to master the forehand, backhand, overhead, serve and volley. They will also learn how to place each shot to a specific location on the court, hit with spins, and prepare for tournament play. We will use the Green Dot ball for this class or the regular ball depending on the skill set of the students.
Mondays – Fridays | 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The Gleneagles Academy is for competitive tennis players of all ages. We will train with regular tennis balls during these practice sessions. We will work on your skills, fitness level, and mental toughness. The academy is designed to get you improved results in competition. We will strive for excellence in all areas. Goals of the Academy are to take you from where you are to the college level. We want to help you develop your tennis to the highest level.
The Gleneagles swim team is a recreational summer program (for children between the ages of 5 and 17) designed to be fun and instructional. We focus on stroke mechanics combined with strength-training and conditioning. Our coaches are all former competitive swimmers and/or certified lesson instructors. We offer both competitive and non-competitive options.
If your child can swim the length of the pool without stopping, he/she is eligible to participate in our swim team. All new swimmers under the age of 10 will need to attend a very short tryout session during swim team registration. This requirement may be waived if swimmer(s) has previous swim team experience with another Club or program.
Our instructors who are certified in the American Red Cross Water Safety Instruction Program teach swimming lessons at Gleneagles during the season when the pool is open. This program is designed to start teaching children around the age of three. We offer group sessions, private and semi-private lessons, which are arranged at the mutual convenience of our Members and instructors.
