Monica Davis is the Club’s General Manager. Prior to joining Indian Wells Country Club, Monica proudly served as General Manager at our sister Club, Crow Canyon Country Club Danville, California.
Monica has been in the golf industry for over 25 starting as an Assistant Golf Professional. Prior to joining ClubCorp, she was Regional Director for American Golf in Orange County, CA, serving as General Manager at Coyote Hills Golf Course with the direct oversight of five additional properties. During Monica’s 20 years with American Golf, she had the great fortune of working at some of AGC’s premier Clubs in San Diego, Hawaii, New York and Orange County.
Monica has a single digit handicap and has played golf since childhood, learning the great sport from her grandparents. In the earlier years of her golf career, she had great aspirations of teaching golf. She later became a member of the LPGA Teaching Division, but learned after a few seasons of teaching, she wanted to do more. Her vision and leadership made her a natural fit for Club Management, which allowed her to make a greater impact with Members and Employee Partners alike.
Monica is originally from San Diego and attended San Diego State University. She remains a Chargers fan regardless of their new hometown. In addition to golf, Monica enjoys exploring new cities, beach vacations and thrives on helping people achieve both their personal and professional goals.
Jason comes to Indian Wells Country Club by way of Desert Falls Country Club in Palm Desert, where he spent the four years as General Manager / Membership Director. Before moving to California in 2015, Jason spent the previous 12 years working as General Manager / Membership Director for Glen Oaks Country Club, a ClubCorp Affiliate Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
Jason has worked in the golf business his entire career, starting in the Golf Shop at The Polo Fields Country Club when he was only 16. He then moved to Glenmary Country Club to join the Membership Sales Department. Eventually becoming Club Manager at Glenmary Country Club. Jason is a graduate of Western Kentucky University’s Broadcasting Department and has also worked covering college basketball and football for ESPN. Jason’s interests include playing golf, spending time with his wife and eight year old daughter exploring the Coachella Valley.
As Indian Wells Country Club's new Director of Golf, Paul joins our team with more than 12 years of experience and talents in golf management. As member of the PGA of America, Paul comes to us from the 36 hole facility across town, The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa. Paul has been with Troon Golf Management for more than a decade and has served as the Head Golf Professional, Director of Instruction, Assistant General Manager and Director of Golf at properties in California, Las Vegas, and Colorado.
Paul is highly focused on creating an exceptional golf experience that exceeds Member and Guest expectations by uniquely anticipating their needs and offering tremendous service. Paul has been recognized multiple times and awarded The Troon Rock Star Award for his team mentoring, leadership skills, as well as his first class Member/Guest relations.
Paul was raised in Colorado and enjoyed playing golf with his Dad throughout the country, from the front range of Colorado, through Southern California and even up to Alaska. Before his golf career, Paul played Junior A Hockey in the US and Canada. Paul then attended Denver University where he played Division 1 Ice Hockey while majoring in Communications and minoring in Music. Music? Yes. Paul went on from college to front a number one band in Colorado and toured the US performing for a few years.
Paul and his wife Tracy love spending time with their 8-year-old daughter at Disneyland, family game nights, playing guitar, and watching Ice Hockey. Paul is also a Founder and Instructional Program Director for Heroes In The Rough, a Military PTSD rehabilitation program. Paul and his family are excited to be part of Indian Wells Country Club with its world-class reputation as being one of the most historic clubs not only in the Valley but the United States.
Michael has been with Indian Wells CC since 1998. He started out as the assistant Superintendent and on October 2008 was promoted to Superintendent. Now he currently is the new Director of Golf Course Maintenance. Michael moved to southern California in 1997 from Jacksonville Illinois. He received his associates degree in turf-grass from the College of the Desert in 1997. He is married to Hilda who is the manager of Vickie's of Santa Fe. Michael has three children Alexia, Jaden, and Landen who keep him busy when he is not at work.
What vision can I bring to life for you?" This question is one that has been a driving force in my career. Building memories, connecting with members and clients alike is all part of great hospitality; and the backbone to my background.
My early roots were established with Marriott International. The hospitality sector hooked me and building meaningful connections kept me seeking for more. I would go on to lead in roles as Executive Event Planner, Catering Manager, Membership Director and Banquet Director to name a few. I have had the pleasure of working with high profile clients, large scale projects and more.
My sense of adventure and drive for achievement brought me to Clubcorp in 2017. As the Private Events Director; I enjoy engaging with members and meeting new people. It is always a pleasure serving our members and communities: so, "stop by"! Let me know how we can work together. I'm ready to bring your vision to life.
Genevieve has worked in the hospitality industry for her entire career. She has held a variety of positions along the way, Banquet Captain for Hideaway Golf Club in La Quinta, Restaurant Manager for Marriott Marquis in San Diego, & most recently as an Event Coordinator for Hyatt Regency Indian Wells. She is very happy to come back to the club environment & is looking forward to building long lasting relationships with the members & team.
Genevieve is originally from Idyllwild, she visits quite often as her parents are still residents. She currently lives in La Quinta with her husband & 4 year old son. During her free time she enjoys hiking, beach trips, traveling, & making memories with her family.

Email Rosie Ramirez
Chef Michael began his career at Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage at the youthful age of 18 as a dishwasher putting himself through Culinary school. Over the course of seven years, his career progressed from dishwasher to cook, sous chef, and later Chef de Cuisine. He was the opening Chef for Agua Caliente’s 360 Sports Bar, and then Chef de Cuisine of The Steakhouse. Fall of 2019 Michael joined ClubCorp at our sister property Mission Hills Country Club as their Executive Sous Chef.
Michael most enjoys cooking with the season’s freshest ingredients and prides himself on paying attention to the details of each and every dish. He also enjoys staying up to date on culinary trends and experimenting with new flavors and ingredients.
When Michael isn’t in the kitchen he most enjoys to watch baseball, play with his three beautiful daughters, Kaylee, Audrina, and Emery and spend time with his wife.
Mathew’s hospitality career started at birth as his family owned a small hotel in Palm Desert along Hwy. 111. While being born in Palm Springs, Mathew most recently returned to the Desert from Orange County where he opened multiple restaurants and bars for The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel during an expansion phase of the ocean front resort.
Mathew has a robust Club history as he previously worked at Desert Falls Country Club, winning many individual and team awards during his nine years with ClubCorp. Following his time at Desert Falls Country Club, Mathew went on to be the Director of Food and Beverage at The Citrus Club then The Springs Country Club. He believes in creating a memorable experiences for his Members and guests through his passion of fresh food, craft cocktails, fine wine and cold beer.
Mathew has been married to his high school sweetheart Candice for 21 years. Candice, a Commercial Interior Designer, collaborates with her husband each time she designs and builds a restaurant and they also enjoy spending time with their son Anthony, who is currently attending Cal State Fullerton.

Email Artie McNickle
Artie has a wealth of experience, with over 40 years in the golf world. After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, he spent eight years in the army reserves, during which time, Artie began his professional playing career, competing first, to get his feet wet, in South Africa and Europe for six months in 1971. In 1972, Artie qualified for the PGA tour, and competed not only in the United States, but also in Australia, New Zealand, and South America, until a minor injury curtailed his playing career in 1984. His major accomplishments on the PGA tour were three Runner Up finishes, at the Andy Williams San Diego Open, the Magnolia Classic in Mississippi, and the Southern Open in Columbus Georgia. In addition, he competed in seven U.S. Opens, one as an amateur, and six as a professional, two masters in 1979 and 1980, and in five PGA championships. He also finished in the top 15 in both the Masters, and the U.S. Open.
Artie began his non-playing career as Director of Instruction for the Jimmy Ballard Golf Workshop at Doral Resort and Country Club in Miami in 1985. As a result of his desire to become accomplished in all aspects of the Golf Business, Artie took the position of Director of Golf at the prestigious La Gorce Country Club, in Miami Beach in 1992. He remained there through 2003. In 2004 Artie, returned to his home state of California, and took the position as Director of Instruction, for the Jim Mclean Golf School at PGA West, until 2013. When the Jim Mclean Golf School disbanded at PGA West in 2013, Artie had a clientele of highly skilled collegians and budding professionals that he coached, often traveling with them to tournaments through 2019. In 2020 at the request of his significant other, to just get out of the house and play golf or get a job, Artie inquired about the position of Director of Player Development at IWCC. And, lo and behold here he is, full circle, ready willing and able to develop your golfing skills at a venue revered by Artie and his playing peers. IWCC and the Bob Hope Desert Classic, was always a “must” to start the year!
As I review my inspirations that formed throughout my career, I have concluded that I have a passion that delivers one great reward. When a student, or a playing partner, or a person to whom I provided a understandable “tip” searches me out and says,” Thank you! I just shot my lowest round ever.” Or, “ I have never hit it so far. Thank you!” Or, “ No three putts, six out of six from five feet. Thank you!” Or, missed only one fairway, unbelievable for me! Thank you!” Those “Thank you’s” are the greatest reward any passionate teacher, instructor, or coach, could ever hope for. I am committed to contributing my expertise to all who ask, with the hope that I receive “that” unsolicited “Thank you”
