Patrick began his career working for Knightsbridge Restaurant Group in Washington, DC where he spent about seven years working through and opening several different concepts. He then moved on to work at Charlie Palmer Steak in DC alongside celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio. Being an avid golfer, Patrick made the move from fine dining restaurants to the private club business. After spending two years at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farms learning the club business, he then moved on to Argyle Country Club. After roughly a year at Argyle, Patrick made the move to ClubCorp in 2014. He helped oversee a multimillion dollar renovation of the Tower Club in Tysons, VA. 

Patrick grew up in the Olney area and moved back a few years ago. In 2017, He married to his wife, Heather and they currently reside a short walk from Norbeck. 

Karen Ruth

Karen brings a wealth of experience to the team, having worked in hotels and the club business.  She began her club career with ClubCorp over twenty years ago as the Membership Director at Quail Hollow Country Club (Cleveland area). Karen has held a variety of management positions and assisted with many club acquisitions over the years.  Recently, Karen moved to Maryland after twelve years of working at various clubs on the East Coast. We are very lucky to have Karen as part of our Norbeck team as she brings with her a wealth of club knowledge and a big servant’s heart.

Kelly Robertson

Kelly joins the Norbeck Team from Chantilly National Golf & Country Club where she has worked the last year and a half as the Member Relations Director and was promoted to the Mid-Atlantic South Field Specialist in 2017. Before Chantilly National, Kelly worked at Piedmont Club in Haymarket, Virginia as the Membership Director.  Kelly worked several years at Stonewall Golf Club, throughout her years there she played a key part in many different roles, as she was eager to learn about the many facets of the golf industry.  During her down time, she enjoys skiing with her husband in Snowshoe, WV and exploring the local wineries.  

Cassandra Centers

Role: Private Events Director

Cassandra has worked with ClubCorp since August 1998. After a brief stay at The Tower Club Tysons Corner, she moved to The Club at Franklin Square, which soon became The City Club of Washington.

She has worked as a Banquet Server, Banquet Captain, Bar Manager, Food and Beverage Manager and now, Private Events Director for the past 8 years.

She graduated with a Hospitality Management degree from Penn State, and currently resides in Columbia, MD with her daughter, Isabel.

Mike Barillo

Mike Barillo is an accomplished PGA professional who began his career at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a Professional Golf Management (PGM) certification from Ferris State University. Mike worked for more than 10 years at Congressional, first as an intern and subsequently as First Assistant Professional and later Director of Instruction.

Mike was also Head Professional and Director of Golf at Argyle Country Club in Silver Spring, Maryland for 18 years. At Argyle, he built a highly successful junior golf program and coached both the number one junior boy and number one junior girl in the world. He is a well-known instructor to players of all levels – from PGA and web.com tour players to championship women’s State Teams and recreational golfers.

As Director of Golf in the Club Corp family of clubs, Mike led the golf operation for 2 two years at the River Creek Club in Leesburg, VA and is now pleased to be the head of golf operations at Norbeck Country Club in Rockville, MD. Mike has qualified for and played in 3 PGA Tour events and has won multiple Mid-Atlantic PGA events.

Jay Nalls

Locally born, Jay Nalls grew up in Rockville, Maryland.  He began working at Norbeck Country Club in 1989 in the golf maintenance department after school and over the summer.  Jay came back seasonally until he was able to secure the position of foreman, then assistant superintendent.

Jay attended the University of Maryland studying golf course agronomy and received the Outstanding Senior award from the College of Agriculture and National Resources of the University of Maryland.  During university, Jay worked at Montgomery Country Club for about nine months and returned to his "home away from home" at Norbeck in the early spring of 2000. 

As superintendent, Jay also worked for nine years as the Government Relations Director for the Mid-Atlantic Association of Golf Course Superintendents.  In 2012, Jay received the Excellence in Government Relations award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.  Receiving this award in front of thousands of his peers will always be a memorable experience.

Jay is excited to see the positive changes ClubCorp is bringing to Norbeck.  He looks forward to strengthening relationships with our current members, and building new relationships with all the new members to come!

Lorraine Lippman

Robert Passaglia

Chef Rob comes from the “City with Big Shoulders” (Chicago) and brings a wealth of experience (37 years) with him. Chef Rob has worked at numerous clubs as Executive Chef, including Inverness, Chandlers and Ruffled Feathers. He was corporate chef for Ala Carte Entertainment and spent the last four years at Chantilly National, Rolling Green and River Creek – all ClubCorp facilities. Lastly, in 2012 Chef Rob traveled with Taylor Swift on tour providing the culinary services for her entourage.
