Role: Head Golf Professional Serving Since: 2015
My name is Danny Behr and I am beyond elated to have been given this opportunity here at Ravinia Green Country Club. To tell you all a little about myself, I was born and raised in Eastern Iowa, a place where my parents still reside today. Growing up, golf became an integral part of my life. I played on the Varsity golf team for all four years of High School, where I was ranked number 1 on the team. As I continued my career in college, I was honored with both a Commitment to Excellence award and All Conference Honors at Black hawk College in Moline, Il which opened the door for me to attend the Professional Golfers Career College in Temecula, Ca where I earned a degree in Professional Golf Management as well as being recognized by the faculty for having the most positive attitude award in my graduating class. In 2010, I was elected to Membership by the PGA of America after completing all 3 Education Levels of the Professional Golf Management Program.
My first job in the golf business was at TPC Deere Run in Moline, IL where, after 1 season, I was promoted to first assistant. This opportunity provided my valuable experience working at a prestigious facility that hosts a PGA Tour event on yearly basis. Though my experience was invaluable at TPC, I knew I needed to move to a larger golf market to continue to advance my career. In 2007, I made the move to Chicago and started as an Assistant Professional at White Eagle Golf Club. From then on, Chicago has been home. It has offered me the opportunity to work at many great facilities such as White Eagle, Kemper Lakes, and most recently Rolling Green. It is with great pride that I start the next chapter of my life at Ravinia Green Country Club.
Over the years, Chicago has given me so much to be both thankful and grateful for. It gave me my wife Stephanie. We met in 2007, while I was working at White Eagle Country Club and we were married in 2013. Stephanie is currently in her first year of Residency at Franciscan Saint James Hospital in Olympia Fields. We are both so excited for this amazing opportunity to be your Head Golf Professional. I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you throughout the season. I’m very excited about the upcoming season and the direction the club is headed and all the potential that Ravinia Green has to offer.
