Championship Richmond Golf

Golf at Stonehenge

Great Richmond golf finds its home at Stonehenge Golf and Country Club. More than a quarter-century ago, the late Edmund Ault, noted designer for such premier golf clubs as the Army Navy Golf Club in Arlington, Virginia, and the Country Club of Virginia’s Tuckahoe Course was engaged to create Stonehenge’s 18 holes of championship Richmond golf.

Ladies Golf Association of Stonehenge

The Ladies Golf Association of Stonehenge (LGA) invites full golf members of the club to join our group for golf, tournaments, and social events. We have 18-hole play on Tuesdays and 9-hole play on Wednesdays from April to October, after which many stay for lunch. On an annual basis, we have a club championship, a 9-hole championship, and a member-guest tournament. There are two Sundays on which we have 9-hole scrambles followed by pot-luck dinners, one in the spring and one in the fall. We also play golf and have lunch with the senior men’s group twice each year. And, on a strictly social basis, we have happy hours in the spring and fall and a holiday pot-luck luncheon, typically in December.

Senior Men's Golf Association

The Stonehenge Senior Men’s Group Association (SSMGA) was founded in 1988 for men 55 and over to provide both golf and social events for our members. There are currently 90 active members in the SSMGA. We have a Senior golf outing every Thursday morning from early April through the end of October, match play starting May 2nd, team match play starting in July. There is a Member-Member/Member-Guest Tournament in June, a three-day Ryder-Cup format tournament in October. Our social events kick off with a breakfast meeting in early April. We have two joint rounds of golf and lunch with the Ladies Golf Association in May and September. An end-of-the-year dinner is featured in November and a holiday luncheon in December.

To join simply fill out an application that can be found in the golf shop/membership director’s office. Turn in the completed application to the Membership Director.

The cost is only $30 per year. We look forward to having you join the Stonehenge Senior Men's Golf Association.

Game On! Program

Whether you’re picking up a club for the first time or if you’re coming back to the sport after some time off, Stonehenge Golf & Country Club’s Game On! Program provides the ideal way for golfers to experience learning the game in an environment and structure that will enable them to build the skills, knowledge and social connections to actively play the game and maximize your Stonehenge Golf & Country Club membership.

Where Game On! differs from other traditional programs is that it does not measure success based on completing a set number of classes. Instead, success is defined when you have achieved the criteria set out within a 3-Level Progression Pathway that ensures you have harnessed the knowledge, experiences and appropriate level of skill to play the golf course. The length of time spent on the program varies between golfer but it’s why golf is a journey, not a marathon.

No matter where your golf journey is taking you, Stonehenge Golf & Country Club is excited to welcome you to the sport! From socializing in a friendly and fun environment to focusing on health and wellness, golf has something for everyone and for every family through:

Making New Social Connections
Spending more time with loved ones
Learning a new skill
Healthier lifestyle
An activity great for the entire family
