Our panel of experts will discuss the operation of non-profits in a post-pandemic era. They will get into the specifics of managing a successful nonprofit in an ever-shifting climate. Panelists include Erica Ezold, Director of Finance & Operations at People's Light, and Jill Weitz, JD, General Counsel at Merakey USA. It will be moderated by Sylvia Bastani, CFRE, CPC, Chief Advancement Officer & Executive Director of the Fund for Girard College. About Erica Ezold Erica is the Director of Finance & Operations at People’s Light, one of Pennsylvania’s largest professional non-profit theatres. In this role she leads fiscal management and has oversight of the Finance, Marketing, Ticketing & Sales, Patron Experience and IT Departments, as well as the for-profit Farmhouse at People's Light. Prior to joining People’s Light in 2018, Erica was the General Manager for Pig Iron Theatre Company in Philadelphia. She has also worked as a Company Manager on several Broadway and Off-Broadway commercial productions. Erica holds a BFA in Drama from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and an MBA from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. In each year round season, People's Light presents stories drawn from ancient times through tomorrow that have direct relevance to the communities they serve. Its award-winning educational programs provide youth from a range of backgrounds with the opportunity to explore all aspects of making theatre. In that role, Ms. Weitz is responsible for all legal affairs of Merakey and its affiliated entities. Prior to joining Merakey in 2015, Ms. Weitz served as Vice President for Human Resources and General Counsel at the Community College of Philadelphia from 2005-2015. Prior to joining the CCP, Ms. Weitz practiced labor and employment law as a partner in the law firm of Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling and as an associate at Pepper Hamilton. Ms. Weitz also served as a law clerk to the Honorable John P. Fullam in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Weitz earned her Bachelor's Degree, magna cum laude, in criminal justice from The American University and her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Villanova University School of Law. At Villanova, Ms. Weitz served as managing editor of the Villanova Law Review. About Sylvia Bastani, CFRE, CPC Sylvia is a highly experienced fundraising professional, consultant, executive coach, and innovation expert with more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit management. Sylvia has raised more than $750M during her career. She has served in positions at The Wharton School and Williamson College for the Trades, where she raised two of the school’s largest gifts in the college’s history. She is also the President & CEO of Bastani & Associates, LLC, a full-service fundraising, communications, and executive coaching consulting firm. Sylvia serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ National Foundation of Philanthropy. She is also a member of the Advisory Council for Drexel University’s School of Nursing and Health Professions, where she offers her time as a lecturer in both undergraduate and graduate courses in nonprofit management. ENTREPRENEUR ROUNDTABLE Every fourth Wednesday of the month // 8:00am The Entrepreneur Roundtable is a hybrid event that requires you to RSVP as an in person or virtual attendee the Monday prior to the meeting. Zoom information will be sent out in the confirmation email your receive after registering and another email the Monday prior to the Roundtable. The Entrepreneur Roundtable is an active networking group that meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 8:00am- 9:00am. Each month, three members are chosen to discuss an issue they are facing with the group, where they will receive feedback and an a robust discussion on that topic. GOALS OF ERT: 1. Enable members of the club to meet others, share info about our businesses and challenges and help each other problem solve, in a way that benefits the greater good. All ships rise. 2. Get to know each other better outside of the regular scheduled meetings to deepen relationships, build increased trust, and extend our networks.
