Our Story

Stonehenge features an 18-hole championship golf course, six lighted tennis courts, club fitting, club regripping at the pro shop, private lessons, bag drop, corporate golf outings and much more. Our Club is known throughout the Richmond area for its excellent Ed Ault-designed golf course, which hosted the national Buy.com Tournament in 2001 and received a total course and bunker renovation in 2003-2004.

Warm, friendly smiles and gracious courtesy greet all who visit the Club – whether it is for championship golf, an energetic tennis match or a fun dinner with friends. The outdoor pool is the perfect place to relax during the warm summer months while the kids enjoy the Big Slide.

The clubhouse combines traditional elegance with casual style, thus accommodating both the business and social needs of the Membership. Dining areas include a ballroom, meeting room, grill and bar attractively positioned to overlook the beautiful natural environment. Stonehenge has established a tradition of fine food and service where goodwill is coupled with competence, and enthusiasm is fueled by imagination.

The clubhouse also offers locker areas for ladies and gentlemen. Unique to Stonehenge is its pro shop, housed in a turn-of-the-century, freestanding structure featuring a fully stocked pro shop accommodating all the discriminating player's golfing needs.

"Stonehenge Golf and Country Club has shown a strong commitment to its environmental program. They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property," said Jim Sluiter, Staff Ecologist for the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Programs.

"To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas," explained Sluiter. These categories include: Environmental Planning, Wildlife & Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Chemical Use Reduction and Safety, Water Conservation, and Water Quality Management.

The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, endorsed by the United States Golf Association, provides information and guidance to help golf courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat, and protect natural resources. Golf courses from the United States, Africa, Australia, Canada, Central America, Europe, and Southeast Asia have also achieved certification in the program.
