A certified club manager and certified food and beverage executive, John has served in upper-level management roles in Clubs across the country, including Baltimore Country Club, Wexford Plantation in Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Cordillera Club Properties outside of Vail, CO where he helped manage a Tom Fazio PGA Valley Course, a Hale Irwin Mountain course and a 67-room luxury lodge and spa.He was part of the team that opened the world famous Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Fla., and did a stint as the Food and Beverage Manager at the Four Seasons in Washington, D.C., earning Awards of Excellence from the The Wine Spectator for his wine lists at both properties.John is married and has two sons, 10 and 13.

Since Ian started working at the City Club of Washington in September 1993, he has had the pleasure of getting to know many Members and Associate Members. After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), he worked for several years in Food and Beverage for Marriott International before discovering his affinity for providing diligent, personalized service in a private club setting. He has a keen interest in food and wine and always hopes that our club’s Wine Society reflects his enthusiasm for sharing fun, insightful and uncomplicated wine knowledge with others. He encourages everyone to attend our Wine Society events.He really enjoys commuting on his bicycle to and from the Club in all sorts of weather conditions.
