The PGA National Resort experience is all new and better than ever.  Fresh off a $110-million-dollar renovation, the resort will be fully operational and poised to welcome a field of up to 75 teams ClubCorp Clubs and Affiliate Clubs from across the country.  With only one wave this year, Clubs will be limited to registering two teams during the Open Entry Period.  Additional teams can be placed on a waitlist and will be added on a space available basis, in the order which they reserved, once team registration closes. With many sponsors returning and some new event enhancements in development, the excitement of Champions Classic is sure to be even greater this year.  Don’t miss out … organize you teams and enter now! 

Tournament Format

  • 54-holes; Shamble with Team Quota
  • Scoring will be determined by using 3 of the 5 best team scores for each hole using a gross point system.  The team with the HIGHEST point total compared to their quota is the daily winner.  Point totals for three days of play will be added together to determine the overall winner
  • Tournament rounds will be played on the Champion, Palmer, and Fazio Courses
  • Teams shall consist of a ClubCorp PGA Professional or Club Representative and (4) Adult Dues-Paying Amateur Members
  • All Amateur Members must have a verifiable GHIN Handicap Index no greater than 36
  • Teams will compete for Champion and Runner-Up Awards; Pro Shop Credit will be awarded for Player Pool winnings
  • Amateur Participants’ lowest GHIN Handicap Index for the past 9 months will be used to determine the team’s quota
  • Tee Assignments
  • Male professionals and amateur men will play from regular tees
  • Senior amateur men (age 65 + actual handicap index equal to or greater than 75) and female professionals will play from the senior tees
  • Female amateurs will play from the forward tees

Shuttle Service

Roundtrip shuttle service between Palm Beach International Airport and PGA National Resort is included in tournament entry and will be provided on a group basis according to arriving and departing flights 

  • Shuttles to PGA National Resort will operate on November 8 and 9 only for arriving guests
  • Shuttles to Palm Beach International Airport will operate on November 13 only for departing guests

Tournament Cost

Single Occupancy (1 player / 1 bed in room) = $3,950 per person

Double Occupancy (2 players / 2 beds in one room) = $3,250 per person

Non-Golf Guest (2 persons / Shared room with player) = $1,750 per person

Terms and Conditions

Payment Terms

  • Online Registration Form and Full Payment Commitment Required to Reserve Spot in the Field
  • In an effort to fill the rooms on hold, all players are required to stay at PGA National Resort to be eligible to participate in the event
  • Members of ClubCorp Clubs will have their member account billed for their entry fee.  Member account billing will be processed when their registrations are confirmed
  • Members of ClubCorp Affiliate Clubs must pay be credit/debit card.  ClubCorp processes credit/debit card charges through a third-party vendor who applies a 2.9% + .30 credit card fee to any credit card payments.  The processing fee will be added to your entry fee and all Affiliate Club Members will be emailed online invoices once their registrations are confirmed 
  • In 2022, Champions Classic will use a phased entry schedule to ensure the one-wave field is filled by mid-September

    • May 1 to June 15, exclusive registration period for teams that competed in the 2021 Champions Classic to register up to (2) teams; up to (2) additional teams per club can be placed on the waitlist  
    • June 15 to August 15, open registration period for all ClubCorp Clubs and Affiliate Clubs not already registered to register up to (2) teams; up to (2) additional teams per club can be placed on the waitlist  
    • August 15 open registration closes; teams will be moved from the waitlist on a space available basis, in the order in which they were placed on the waitlist;  teams will have 48 hours from email notification to confirm their spot in the field
    • Entry into the tournament field will be closed at 11:59pm EST on September 8, 2022 unless the field is filled sooner  
    • ClubCorp Clubs who have qualifiers scheduled outside their assigned entry schedule window may register up to (2) teams under the professional’s name with TBD names for the four amateurs; however the club shall be committed to said team spots and expected to provide specific player names NO LATER than August 1, in order to confirm the team spots.  If player names are not provided the team spot(s) will be released 

Cancelation & Refund Policy
In the event a player elects to cancel their Tournament entry more than 60 days before the Tournament begins (September 9, 2022), he/she will receive a full refund of their previously paid Tournament Fee. If a player pays their Tournament Fee via a credit/debit card, they will receive a refund check.  If they pay their Tournament Fee via their membership account, such billing will be credited back to that membership account. It will be the sole responsibility of the canceling player’s club professional and fellow team members to replace his/her position on their 5-person team.  In the event a player elects to cancel his/her Tournament entry and/or reservation 60 days or less before the Tournament begins, he/she will forfeit their previously paid Tournament Fee as liquidated damages at the time of such cancellation.  It will be the sole responsibility of the canceling player’s club professional and fellow team members to replace his/her position on their 5-person team.
